For future reference, I sent my 305 in to Garmin for a repair. They have a $85 flat fee. The service turned it around very quickly too. So far, so good

so, the burning nerd question of the day is: have you worn both your old one and your new one at the same time, with double heart rate straps?

Who told you...?! It was just the one time, I promise, to make sure the transition from the 301 to the 305 was seamless...

That is hilarious! Talk about wearing belts and suspenders...
I do still need to check the calibration of both the repaired (it was replaced) and the new one that I bought, and it would save time but....

I did the same thing, lol. I wanted to be sure I was ready to give my 301 up, so I wore them both. I still wasnt convinced or maybe too attached, so I kept mine until very recently. I've been having better luck with the 405 now, it's been a bumpy year trying to adjust though.
Speaking of straps, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get HR data from Saturdays race...turns out I wore my Polar strap with my Garmin. DOH!
